The Health Insurance Marketplace has several health care plans. Each state has its own Market. Only government-approved health plans will be available in the Market.

There are four steps to purchasing a plan in the Health Insurance Marketplace:

1. Enter your information

   Enter some basic information about yourself, such as your income and your family size. You can complete this step online or by mail. This will tell you what type of plan you are eligible for and whether you can receive a subsidy.

2. Compare plans

   Take your time choosing the plan that works best for you and your family.

3. Choose your plan

   Choose and enroll in your health care plan.

4. Coverage begins

   After you enroll, you will receive a welcome pack and an ID card from your new health plan.
